ENERGY AND ARCHITECTURE
the brief.
In groups of 2, we were tasked to discuss the impact of the energy efficient strategies implemented to the built environment on the global scene and understand how these strategies affect the energy demands in the chosen building. The façade, lighting system, HVAC system, waste management and renewable energy systems were analysed to understand the implementation of the energy efficient strategies within the building and how they were successfully implemented to reduce the energy demand as well as meet user expectations and comfort.

Individually, we were tasked to evaluate the energy consumption of our own homes and analyse the implementation and potential for energy saving strategies. By identifying the principles of energy efficient systems and understanding the overall practice of potential energy savings through inspection, we would be able to understand how to reduce energy usage via low energy architectural design.
